Colin holds a MBA from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, a BCom degree with Honours in Economics, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree with majors in Agriculture Economics and Management from the University of Swaziland.
Colin has extensive knowledge and expertise in the fields of SMME development, micro and macro economics, economic analysis, market research, agro-processing, financial modelling, project management and structuring as well as feasibility studies gained in more than 10 years of working experience. He is also a registered Property Candidate Valuer with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession.
He was appointed CEO for the South African Chemical Technology Incubator (Chemin) based in Port Elizabeth in April 2008 after having served as the Projects Manager for Chemin from November 2004. Before joining Chemin, he was with Loxton Venn and Associates from February 2001 as an Agriculture Economist. He moved to Golder Associates Africa when the company was taken over by Golder Associates and was retained as a Development Consultant. He is the Secretary General of SABTIA and is also a member of the Sedichem Board of Directors. He has previously coordinated a number of consultancies into the Swaziland Sugar Industry, the highlight being the review of the Swaziland Sugar Industry Costs Competitiveness in 2004.
He has been extensively involved in a number of feasibility studies in Swaziland, Sudan and in South Africa. The most significant being the Sugar Beet Feasibility Study in the Eastern Cape Province (Queenstown) and the feasibility study of the manufacturing of Ethanol from maize as well as the review of Ethanol Africa's business plan. In Sudan, he coordinated the feasibility studies for the revitalization of the El Bagir and Gedaref Crop Production Farms, where he was responsible for compiling the feasibility reports for both these projects.
