Chemin has been in a process of increasing its footprint to other Provinces. This has led to 3 more offices opening up this quarter. The Midrand office, which has become the head office of Chemin is also the Flyash implementation office. It opened its doors in March 2014 and is currently occupied by 7 employees.
This office is located at The Willows Office Park in Erand Gardens and is funded through Eskom Foundation and DTI’s Incubation Support Programme. The Midrand office also functions as the knowledge centre for the fly-ash project. This project is meant to beneficiate fly-ash and to commercialise fly-ash into value-added products that will add to the economic development of the Mpumalanga Province.
Amina Chem Pty Ltd is a company based in Mthatha, which specialises in manufacturing of cleaning detergents. Amina Chem has been granted with Technology Transfer Funding (TTF) from Seda for a total of R580 757.
The funding will go towards capital financing of equipment and will include machinery such as industrial size mixing tanks, decanting stations, pH measurement tools, a label printer and packaging equipment. The funding will enable Amina chem to manufacture their products as well as package them for their various markets. The equipment will further capacitate Amina Chem to increase their production capacity and sales base.
LBN Hygiene solutions manufacture a quality range of cleaning detergents for both domestic and commercial use. Lazola Buntu Nxele, the sole owner of the business negotiated his cleaning detergents into Spars around Port Elizabeth. LBN Hygiene is currently looking at expanding by stocking their products in other provinces
LBN not only supplies products throughout the Eastern Cape but also provide cleaning services. LBN hygiene solutions is based in Port Elizabeth and manufacture their detergents in a state of the art laboratory. All their products are quality approved before the products leave the lab to ensure consistent quality results every time. Most of their products are SABS tested. LBN also supplies Twinsaver tissue paper, hygiene dispensers, equipment.
We are pleased to announce that Lazola B Nxele from LBN Hygiene placed in the top 5, under the category of existing entrepreneurs on the 25th June 2014. LBN hygiene manufactures their own cleaning detergents and offers a range of services. The workshop was filled with interesting presentations from esteemed business owners in the Bay. A range of topics was covered from finding a suitable name for y our business to marketing. After the workshop potential contestants were asked to fill in their entries. Dragon’s Den judges were busy selected the finalists for the competition.
The competition was held to boost start up entrepreneurship in the Eastern Cape. Sponsors and visitors were invited from all over to add value to the aspiring SMEs through a day long workshop on the 25th and the Dragons Den competition on the 26th June. Last years event saw over 850 attendees with this years’ event raking in about 150 attendees. There were a number of expressions of interest for the Chemistry incubator by the contestants.
