MODDERFONTEIN INCUBATION CENTRE

The Modderfontein Incubation Centre was established in November 2017. The Centre is funded by SEDA and Gauteng Department of Economic Development, under the Gauteng Chemical and Pharmaceutical Incubation Programme on an annual basis. It is located in Lesedi House, Mc Gowan Avenue, Modderfontein. The Centre is mainly composed of three separate building blocks, a double story building housing CheminMID Scientific Services testing laboratory, training facilities and staff offices. Second building is a Cosmetics Toll Manufacturing facility and the third building a TTF Consortium plant which are sponsored for by the AECI. The Centre is used for the following:

  • Head offices for Chemin
  • Shared manufacturing facilities for chemical detergents, cosmetics, hair care and perfumes
  • Fully equipped analytical laboratory, and
  • Staff and intern’s offices

THEMBISA INCUBATION CENTRE

The Thembisa Incubation Centre was established in August 2018. The Centre is funded by SEDA and Gauteng Department of Economic Development, under the Gauteng Chemical and Pharmaceutical Incubation Programme on an annual basis. It is located at 47 Thami Mnyele Drive, Thembisa Business Park. The Centre is mainly composed of two separate building blocks, which are sponsored for by the City of Ekurhuleni Municipality. The centre is used for the following:

  • Small scale manufacturing hub,
  • Shared manufacturing facilities for chemical detergents and powdered products, and
  • Staff offices.

SEDIBENG INCUBATION CENTRE

The Sedibeng Incubation Centre was established in December 2020. The Centre is funded by SEDA and Gauteng Department of Economic Development, under the Gauteng Chemical and Pharmaceutical Incubation Programme on an annual basis. It is located at 5 Moshoeshoe Rd, Science Park, Sebokeng. It is based at University of Vaal and easily reachable by the people of the Vaal including the areas of Sedibeng, Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark. The building is co-shared by Chemin and the VUT. The centre is used for the following:

  • Shared manufacturing facilities for chemical detergents, paints, high technology projects including agro-processing, cannabis products, herbal infusions, African traditional medicines, and
  • Fully equipped biochemistry laboratory

EAST LONDON INCUBATION CENTRE

The East London Incubation Centre was established in September 2010 with funding from the Eastern Cape Department of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs and Tourism. The centre has floor space measuring 500 m2 and is located at Site 16, Fish Eagle Street, Fort Jackson Industrial Park in Mdantsane, East London. The centre is used for the following:

  • Provincial offices for Chemin
  • Shared manufacturing facilities for chemical detergents, cosmetics, hair care and perfumes
  • Quality Control Laboratory.

MTHATHA INCUBATION CENTRE

The Mthatha Manufacturing Hub was established in October 2020, with funding from the Eastern Cape Development Corporation. The objective of the Hub is to extend the services of the incubator to the OR Tambo and surrounding districts. The Hub is located at the FurnTech Building at No 1, Timber Street, Vulindlela Heights, Mthatha. The Hub is used for the following:

  • Shared Manufacturing Facility for Detergents,
  • Staff Offices and
  • Boardroom and training facilities

KWAMASHU INCUBATION CENTRE

The KwaMashu incubation centre was established in June 2021. The centre is funded by Ithala Development Finance Corporation, one of KwaZulu-Natal’s primary drivers of economic development and a strategic enabler of support for, in particular, this province’s historically disadvantaged communities.

It is located at 36 Ntombela Road, Emakhosini, KwaMashu, Durban. The centre is mainly composed of the following:

  • Shared manufacturing facilities for chemical detergent and cosmetics,
  • Laboratory services, and
  • Staff offices
